About me
For over 25 years, I have been dedicated to understanding and respecting what makes each of us unique. After conducting clinical assessments to identify the brain functions behind both strengths and weaknesses in learning and behavior, I helped children build self-awareness and self-esteem to advocate for their own needs. In addition, I worked with parents and caregivers to understand and support their children’s diverse needs and talents, provided clinician training to pediatricians and psychologists, and teacher training in schools on how to identify and support children’s learning and behavior.
After many years of focusing on learning and behavior, I decided to pursue an MSW so that I could also support mental health. Each person has a unique life and experiences and should be treated with unconditional positive regard. I believe we all feel our strongest and most hopeful when understanding and respect replace blame, humiliation, and labels – and when we have some control over our lives and aren’t afraid to take on challenges. That’s why I emphasize authenticity and the importance of understanding the whole person.
